Creative Direction for Discover Central MA

  • Challenge: Curate a content library across seasons (and years) that will serve the print and digital needs of Discover Central Massachusetts.

  • Insight: Leverage the best practices of event, scenic, and lifestyle photography, with insights on tourism marketing.

  • Idea: Direct local photographers to capture key visuals that will enhance the perception of Central Massachusetts.

  • Execution: As a Creative Director, I provide photographers with time of day / lighting preferences, specific locations and shot preferences, as well as coordinate models to stage shots when needed. Providiing detailed direction ensures clarity with the photographer, evergreen content, and provides my client the greatest ROI.

  • Results: Here are examples from various photographers I’ve worked with on behalf of Discover Central MA since 2021, followed by a few examples of use in design work:

Local Casting & Location Scouting for Element / Country Bank

  • Challenge: Element, a Boston-based production company, was producing broadcast ads for Country Bank. Element had a tight turnaround and needed local connections to plan a shoot in Central Massachusetts.

  • Insight: Studio DiBella is entrenched in the Central Massachusetts community through client relationships such as Discover Central MA and Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, making Breanna DiBella an ideal partner.

  • Idea: After reading the script, Studio DiBella proposed casting locals and choosing locations that would be recognizable in the community.

  • Execution: Location and casting presentations were researched and compiled for Element, who worked with Country Bank on the decisions. In additional to location details, specific framing suggestions were made for larger locations. A shot list was converted into proposed day-of schedule, ensuring the entire shoot could be accomplished in one day. Casting calls were put out to local professional groups and through direct outreach with local models on social media. Day-of location coordination and the cast point person was Breanna DiBella.

  • Results: An authentic ad hitting the highlights of the Central Massachusetts community.

Art Direction for Studio Brand Portraits

  • Challenge: Headshots were needed for my linkedin, website and for public speaking promotion.

  • Insight: My brand is quiet confidence meets bold ideas and whimsical imagination.

  • Idea: Pair a bold use of color and camera whimsy with a business professional pose.

  • Execution: Collaborated with photographer Hannah Rose Osofsky, sharing my brand moodboard, outfit selects and pose research prior to out studio shoot.
